The rate adjustment is necessary to continue maintaining and upgrading Huber Heights’ aging water and sewer infrastructure. The City invests nearly $9 million annually in the water system and $4.5 million annually in sewer collection and treatment. These investments help ensure safe, reliable service and compliance with EPA water quality regulations.

Starting with the February 2026 bill, the average residential customer will see an increase of approximately $23.50 per month on their combined water and sewer bill. Individual bills may vary based on usage.

Future rate adjustments are anticipated as part of a long-term plan to responsibly fund infrastructure improvements and increased operating costs. For the next 3 years (2027, 2028, 2029), the combined increase for water, sewer, and stormwater would be approximately 12% each year. Any future changes will continue to be reviewed and approved by City Council.

No. The rate increase is not related to new development. It is intended to fund maintenance, upgrades, and regulatory compliance for existing water and sewer infrastructure that serves the entire community. In July of 2025, the City enacted a tri-cities capacity fee that only applies to new homes and businesses to better capture the costs of providing services to new developments.
