Huber Heights Seeks Input to Shape the Future of Parks and Recreation
HUBER HEIGHTS, OH - (July 27, 2017) – The City of Huber Heights will host a public meeting at City
Hall on Monday August 7th at 6:30PM as a part of the Parks and Recreation Master Planning process.
The City is currently undergoing a strategic master plan for parks and recreation facilitated by
This first public meeting will describe the process involved in developing the Master Plan, share
preliminary findings to date, and provide opportunity for residents to give feedback regarding
parks, facilities, and services.
“The overall plan will be designed to build a flourishing future for Huber Heights as we focus on
one of the community’s highest priorities; our parks and recreation” said Assistant City Manager
Scott Falkowski. This process and public meeting will help inform and guide the strategic planning
process including park design, location, features and amenities, activities, programs and
prioritization of City dollars.
“We encourage everyone who wants to be part of shaping the future of our parks to attend and
participate in this process” said Falkowski. The meeting will be held at Huber Heights City Hall,
6131 Taylorsville Rd. on Monday August 7th at 6:30PM and anyone interested is invited to attend.

The Huber Heights Police/Communications Division is scheduled for an on-site assessment as part of a program to achieve accreditation by verifying it meets professional standards.
Administered by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA), the accreditation program requires agencies to comply with state-of-the-art standards in four basic areas: policy and procedures, administration and operations.
As part of the on-site assessment, agency employees and members of the community are invited to offer comments at a public information session Monday, February 13th at 5 p.m. The session will be held in the Community Room of the Police Division located at 6121 Taylorsville Road.
Agency employees and the public are also invited to offer comments by calling (937)237-3581 on February 13th between the hours of 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. Comments will be taken by the Assessment Team and will not be recorded or monitored by Huber Heights Police Division personnel.
Telephone comments as well as appearances at the public information session are limited to 10 minutes and must address the agency’s ability to comply with CALEA’s standards. A copy of the standards is available at the police division. Local contact is Kristi Warden (937)233-1565.

Republic service 2017 schedule
Republic Services has cancelled their planned route changes for Huber Heights Customers indefinitely. All trash and recycle routes will remain as they currently are; therefore service will continue on the same days with no changes at this time. Republic Services will send a phone call and other announcements to customers very soon. Although there may be adjustments to a few addresses for a day or so as the route changes are cancelled, this decision was made to ensure the most consistency for Huber Heights customers at this time. If there are any pickup issues, please contact Republic Services service line at 800-543-1339.

Huber Heights Arts & Beautification Commission is hosting their second annual art show exhibition on Sunday, April 10th. The event will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Huber Heights Senior Citizen Center located at 6428 Chambersburg Road.
The event is open to all community members living in and around the Huber Heights area. There is no fee to submit entries for display. No judging of art work will take place. Exhibitors are responsible for setting up their own exhibit and removing it at the conclusion of the show. Please read the attached rules for further details and requirements.
Note: There will be only six foot tables available for display purposes. YOU are responsible for setting up your art work and you must stay with your display during the event.
The City hosts a Community Wide Garage Sale two times per year.
Each year, our Community Wide Garage Sale is held on the second Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday of June and of October.
We encourage residents to participate if they would like to sell their unwanted items.
There is a sign up sheet for the sale at City Hall. Registration and permits are not required for these sales. The sign up list will be distributed to shoppers in person and online who want to find the sales through out our City. Applicant name and phone number will not be published for privacy concerns.
