Mission Statement
The mission of the office of the Director of Finance is to safeguard the assets and manage the financial affairs of the City including revenue collection, cash disbursements, accounting and financial reporting, income tax administration, investments, debt management special assessments. To maintain reasonable internal controls to protect the City’s assets and ensure the timely and accurate recording of transactions in accordance with accounting standards for state and local governments. To provide services that support the operations of City Departments. To manage the City’s investment and debt portfolios in such a manner as to achieve the highest possible investment return with stringent safeguards, and reduce the annual and total cost of the City’s debt. To provide timely advice to the City’s elected and appointed officials on issues affecting the current and future financial affairs of the City.
The Finance Department is made up of the Accounting Division and the Income Tax Division.
Donnie R. Jones - Director of Finance
Donnie R. Jones, CPA, joined the City of Huber Heights in October 2008 as the Director of Finance. He has worked with state and local governments for the past 25 years both in positions of public service with governmental units and in private sector positions in the financial services industry. Prior to joining the City, he was Treasurer of the City of Orlando, Florida.
